Here is the excerpt on the mall
The Clark County Board of Commissioners voted Jan. 20 to approve a recreational facility at the Boulevard Mall in the space once occupied by Dillard’s Department store.
John’s Incredible Pizza Co., a Southern California company with headquarters in Orange County, will invest $10 million to build out the space. The restaurant and entertainment complex will feature arcade games, amusement rides, miniature golf, laser tag and more. The facility will occupy the first floor of the building that has been vacant for six years.
The second floor of the space will house offices and a call center, said Timo Kuusela, vice president and general manager of Boulevard Ventures. Residents can also expect to see Olivia’s Mexican Restaurant go in toward the front of the mall, said Kuusela.
These plans are among a list of improvements planned for Boulevard Mall, once one of the valley’s most popular shopping and gathering destinations until the onset of retail attractions on the Strip and around the valley. The mall continues to be anchored by Sears and Macy’s which own their spaces.
Sansone Real Estate Services which purchased the mall in November 2013 for $54.5 million, will spend approximately $25 million to renovate the mall. Work is underway and improvements should be visible as soon as spring. Work will be done in two phases with the first consisting of repainting the property and resurfacing the parking lot among other exterior cosmetic updates. Phase II is expected to take until the end of 2015 and will involve the completion of John’s Incredible Pizza Co. and Olivia’s Mexican Restaurant.
